One of my goals for this blog was to create an online cookbook for my children and nieces, as (hopefully) they each develop their own love of cooking. These will all be recipes that are quick to put together, with a limited amount of equipment and ingredients – basically something you could throw together in a dorm or other badly organized college kitchen scenario.
Quick Garlic Toast Recipe
Buns, rolls or bread (somewhat stale is fine)
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
If you are using hamburger or hot dog buns, just open them into two halves and butter the cut side. Slice thicker rolls and buns. The thinner the slice the crispier your toast will be. If the slices have two cut sides, like bread, butter each side. Sprinkle each buttered side lightly with garlic powder, lay them out on a baking sheet and put them in the oven until lightly browned. If you are using slices buttered on each side, flip them over so that both sides tan lightly.
Take them and sprinkle the hot slices immediately with the parmesan cheese. If you have time you can switch the oven to broil, and put the slices back in for a minute or two to melt the cheese.
